CONGRATULATIONS TO DON ON THE PICTORIAL ARTICLE ON HIS BELLEVUE & SCHENECTADY RAILROAD ARTICLE IN THE LATEST ISSUE OF O GAUGE RAILROADING MAGAZINE (RUN NUMBER 230 AUG/SEPT ISSUE). WE HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF MAKING MANY KITBASHED AND SCRATCHBUILT BUILDINGS FOR HIS RAIL EMPIRE. IN FACT ALL THE SCHENECTADY O SCALE SERIES IS FEATURED ON HIS LAYOUT. WE ARE SO HAPPY FOR DON AND HIS FAMILY THAT HIS LAYOUT IS FINALLY IN PRINT ! AND WE ALSO LIKE TO THANK HIM FOR HIS SUPPORT WITH US HERE AT M&M. Don K. of NY state sent us the first pictures of his pike with our structures incorporated in it. He has 25 of our structures on his layout and we are in the finishing stages (structure complete and shipped of a customized MTH structure that is to become Ellis Hospital for him His monster empire of a layout is greatly detailed and we here at M&M are happy we are helping him achieve that goal !
Here we have 3 of our structures in a row. They are all highly detailed MTH Rail King structures. The A&P supermarket features a full market interior with customers, shopping baskets and employees. On the facade is a lighted Bar Mills A&P sign. Next to that is the 5 story Traymore Hotel. The Traymore features a fully custom lobby with check in counter, elevator banks, sofas and plants and hotel personnel and guests. The sign is a lighted vertical sign. All kinds of custom decals and graphics grace the structure. Last but not least in the picture is the 6 story WRGB-TV6 structure. It also features custom lighted windows, vertical sign and just out of the picture is a lighted transmitter tower on the rooftop ! This structure was a &#$%!@$ to pack and ship :)
Another one of our most popular O scale (and HO too) is the Mikey's Sea Swirl Ice Cream Shoppe. This DPM structure has a full ice cream parlor interior with counter, soda fountains, glasses, coolers, juke box, booths, table , chairs, customer and a soda jerk ! Outside features 2 lighted facade signs, lighted vertical sign and even a trestle Breyer's Ice Cream Sign ! Just out of view to the left (under the GAS sign) is Mickey's Gym that features a full boxing gym interior ! This structure is all scratchbuilt from the building itself right down to the custom made people ! All these structures are available from M&M and on the site.
AHHHH, the Burbs ! The structure was a MTH ice cream shop that we turned into Burger Boy Drive In ! This structure was a challenge to do but has loads of custom features ! Again it has a full burger joint custom interior but it also has red EL neon lighting around the facade edge, custom roof signs that are lighted, lighted menu board and even a lighted roadside burger Boy sign you can see to the left of this picture ! In the dark when lit you feel like you are back in the 1950's again !
