THE G. B. FROBE COMPANY
 
 
We start here with an Ameritowne building - assembled and custom
painted showing off the brick detail.. The windows were all hand painted and
then custom decaled along the top facade on 3 sides and front for the G.B. Frobe
Co. . Roof details include a water tank, 2 ventilators and pipe with valve.
Front stairs, a loading dock & 2 other loading doors with real wood bumpers
enhance the building. then a fire alarm bell was added and the building was
decaled with custom made ones.
The structure is lighted, inside is 2 14V bulbs. On the outside 7 white LEDs
over the front lettering, up-lighting from the landscaping and garage doors and
1 red LED by the fire alarm bell gong. All are wired for 12VDC operation.
Last we landscaped the front of the building with 2 flowerbeds that include the
2 white LEDs for up-lighting as mentioned above & a person on the steps going
in.

Based on the actual building in the Atlanta, GA , it
was featured in an article with plans in the Sept. 1992 issue of
Railroad Model Craftsman. Makes a great roadside or trackside
structure. Lots of details and character in this little structure.
Lighted front dock and rear shed area.
THE STRUCTURE IS SCRATCHBUILT
FROM PLASTRUCT ITEMS, BASSWOOD AND ARTIST MATBOARD. CUSTOM MADE
GRAPHIC AND DECALS MADE FOR THE STRUCTURE
THE BUILDING IS PAINTED WITH A SPECIAL TEXTURE STYLE PAINT TO GIVE IT A
HARD OLD STUCCO LOOK. ROOF HAS A "STEP HIP" AND IS ACTUALLY 3
PIECES. 2 PIECES TO THE MAIN ROOF AND THE CORRUGATED METAL ROOF FOR THE
SHED. THE FRONT AREA FEATURES 3 FREEZER DOORS (2 LARGE AND ONE
SMALL "BLOCK" ONE ) CUSTOM MADE FROM PONDEROSA PINE AND BASSWOOD.
GRANDT LINE FRONT AND REAR DOORS AND GARAGE DOOR. FRONT WOODEN
DOCK STEPS DOWN TO A MASONRY AND WOOD ENTRANCE DOCK. SHED ROOF
MADE WITH CORRUGATED METAL WITH BASSWOOD RAFTERS. ALL WINDOWS HAVE
GRILLS AND FROSTED LOOK TO THEM.
FRONT DOCK ALSO HAS AN ARTTISTA #1278 ICE MACHINE ON IT. THE RIGHT
SIDE WALL HAS A ELECTRICAL SERVICE AND METER PAN, PHONE WIRE BRIDGE AND
INTERFACE BOX AND A NON WORKING LAMP AND SHADE. ROOF DETAILS
INCLUDES 2 VENTILATORS, SMOKEJACK AND PLUMBING VENTS.

real wooden dock area. This kitbashed Korber kit is a great heavy industry
upfront on the layout or in the back as a backdrop. The dock area is lit with 3
